Biography

For the past 7 years, Porter has worked with clients in retail, finance, defense, education, sustainability, and healthcare to innovate their business models through the use of serious games. Currently, Porter is responsible for IBM’s broader serious games strategy and partner ecosystem, leading their global effort on how organizations can leverage games to provide greater agility in an increasingly complex business environment. Porter’s connection to a variety of innovative serious game studios as well as IBM’s global client network positions him to provide us with some unique insights on our industry and our opportunity. Porter started his gaming career working for Wynn Las Vegas in customer loyalty; one of the leaders in game mechanics. Prior to joining IBM, Porter with Booz Allen Hamilton where he infused game mechanics to support projects in business model redesign, change management, and tactile learning for clients such as NASA Education. Porter was an Adjunct Professor at George Mason University in Business Communications. While born and raised in Maine, Porter received his MBA from UNC and has a BS from Lehigh University.
