Leslie is the director of a new, small and vibrant team of professionals who define requirements, conduct acquisition activities and manage the development of game based learning products for healthcare professionals. She was the Project Director, Games for Training Program, United States Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), Orlando, Florida. After graduation from college Leslie was commissioned in the U.S. Army Field Artillery. Leslie held multiple positions of increasing responsibility before moving into the M&S field and ultimately project management of training solutions for the U.S. Army. Leslie started her association with PEO STRI in 1997 on the Warfighter Simulation development team in Orlando, Florida. She subsequently coordinated development of Stryker and Future Combat System Training Aids, Devices Simulators and Simulations. In 2005, Leslie began work on what would be the Army’s new Games for Training (GFT) program of record. In 2007 she was selected as the first Project Director for the GFT program and assigned to the Product Manager Air and Command Tactical Trainers. She built the GFT project into a vital Army acquisition program of record that continues to support training for thousands of Soldiers.
