Tom Carbone was part of team that created UCF’s Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy (FIEA) and has served as FIEA’s Technical Director ever since. He is actively researching the psychomotor skills of video game players having published several papers on the subject. Tom also serves as Studio Director for Iron Galaxy Studios in Orlando. Prior to creating FIEA, Tom held senior technical roles in Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Kodiak Interactive, and Sculptured Studios shipping well known game titles such as Madden Football, Amped 2, Inside Pitch Baseball and many others. Before joining the game industry, Tom helped design the AMRAAM missile for Hughes Aircraft Company. Tom holds a PhD and Masters in Modeling and Simulation from the University of Central Florida and received his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah.
