Dan designs engaging, effective learning spaces for Institute of Play, including game design, school design and support, and developing multi-dimensional teachers who make important contributions to the internationally learning community. As a major force in the development of the Quest Learning Model and TeacherQuest, Dan is experienced in leading teams of teachers and designers to build game-like curricula, processes, and learning spaces. He began his teaching work as a middle school mathematics teacher in New York City– unless you count his inspired age 4 direction of the Wizard of Oz at a particularly lively wedding feast (most people don’t count it. Do you?). He also studied instructional technology at Teachers College, Columbia University. Dan lives in Chapel Hill, NC.
